Nanjing has built a public culture service system covering the urban and rural areas of the whole city and offering complete utilities for grass-roots cultural activities. There are altogether 16 reading and recreational clubs, 47 museums, 17 public libraries and 114 town and community reading and recreational clubs. The city reaches the radio and TV broadcasting coverage to its people with two radio stations, two television stations and 28 TV channels. It prints over 1.7 billion copies of newspapers a year and publishes more than 60 million volumes of magazines, boasts 22 artistic performance groups and over 60 featured folk performance teams in communities and rural areas. These groups present more than 1,600 cultural programs each year.
