Nanjing’s culture industry enjoys diversified cultural carriers and rapid development. Its creative culture industry, cartoon and animation industry, publishing industry, leisure tourism industry, film and TV industry and conference and exhibition industry have witnessed a rapid development in recent years. “2008 China Creative Culture Industry Development Report” shows that Nanjing ranks sixth in the country in creative culture industry. The city produces over 300 hours of cartoon and animation programs yearly, ranking fifth in the country. Efforts have also been made to develop cultural exhibitions, cultural industry parks, and leisure districts. The city now boasts 3 State-level and 5 provincial-level demonstration bases of cultural industry. There are 41 culture industry parks being completed or under construction, of which East Eight Creative Culture District is one of the best culture industry parks in the country.
