2009 Nanjing Pearl Spring Chess Tournament and Women’s FIDE Grand Prix held the opening ceremony in the stadium of Nanjing University of Technology on the evening of September 29th.
After the opening ceremony and the Lot Drawing Ceremony, Nanjing, the host, had an exciting traditional Chinese perform .The traditional Chinese folk dance and music, Peking Opera, glorious Kongfu, fantastic ballet on top made a deep impression on our wise grandmaster and also showed our friendship.
In the beginning , several active lion was running to the stage , which was the first program ,’ Dancing lion in Nanjing happily Welcome guests , Dancing lion in Jiangpu district and huge Nanjing lion welcomed distinguished guests from all of the world .The actor Chen Keyan from Nanjing Acrobatic group introduced that they prepared it for more than three months . The name of the program came from another name of the pearl spring Guests-welcoming spring .The more people come, the more actively the water runs. The three words expressed that Nanjing people are so happy that many foreign guests come here.
Acrobatic, Ballet on Shoulder brought the performance to climax. The performance that actress played actively on the shoulder and head, which won warm continual applause. The fashionable folk music with twelve Chinese traditional folk Instruments including Erhu and Guzheng , whose nice adison attracted the attention of grandmasters and audiences The following Peking Opera Fairy’s Flowers and martial art Chinese Kongfu and other programs left great impression to the foreign friends from many countries and the audience. In the last program Chess Shinning in Jinling, there are not only folk dances of Russia、Spain、Arabic、India、Bulgaria and the USA, but also 32 little children with chess-style dresses and flags of FIDE、Continental Chess Union、China、Bulgaria、Netherlands、Spain and other countries, expressing the FIDE’s theme “We Are Family” and showing the spectacular event.
The opening show had lasted for one hour, including nine programs. After the show, Ms. Guo, an audience, told to the journalists that she liked the excellent ballet most, and the Chinese Kongfu was quite wonderful. According to the introduction of Mr. Wang Yongjian, the director of the opening show, the planning program of the show had changed for many times. And the last fruit contained the elements of Pukou、Nanjing and Jiangnan, mixing Chinese and international styles. It spread features of “Localization, Internationalization, and Specialization”. “We want to give the audience the most surprise with the best planning.” said Wang Yongjian.
