The opening ceremony of the Nanjing International Chess Super Grand Prix was held in the Nanjing University of Technology on the evening of September 27th. The tournament is held by Nanjing municipal government, FIDE, Chess and CARD Management Center of General Administration of Sports of China, undertook by Government of PuKou District, Nanjing and Nanjing Sports Bureau.

　　Mr. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov. , The President of FIDE and President of Russian Autonomous Republic of Kalmykia, some FIDE officials, council members of Grand Slam Chess Association, principal officials of the five Grand Slam tournaments, chess grandmasters, chief arbiters, officials of the General Administration of Sports of China, officials of Jiangsu province and Nanjing city presented the opening ceremony as well as ordinary people from all respects of society. There were about 2200 persons in the opening ceremony. The environment was very exciting. A lot of people said that they have been looking forward to witnessing the chess King and Queen and getting their signatures.
