On the afternoon of October 8, Nanjing Pearl Spring Chess Tournament presented a lively show. Arranged by our Organizing Committee, a chess grandmaster Vera from Siberia, Russia opened a spectacular chess war with 20 little chess players in turns.
In her early twenties, Vera once won the champion of Women's under-20 Youth Chess Tournament in 2007, with her rating over 2300. This time, she made a special trip from Qingdao to Nanjing aiming to be a volunteer for the tournaments. The little chess players, opponents of Vera, are members of Children’s Chess Camp. Their average age is around ten and the youngest is only five. The famous Nobel Laureate in economics Mr. Robert A. Mundell, "Father of Euro", also came to watch their competition.
At last, the Russian beauty Vera won the game.
