The last round of both tournaments ended today.
In the male’s games, Chinese top player Wang Yue(black) drew successfully with Leko Peter and gained his performance with 9 draws and one loss. Norwegian prodigy Carlsen Magnus(white) who had locked the champion was still initiative and presented an excellent performance against Jakovenko Dmitry, creating a perfect ending to his trip in Nanjing with 6 wins and 4 draws. Topalov Veselin was against Radjabov Teimour and ended up the game in draw. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd places went to Carlsen Magnus, Topalov Veselin, and Wang Yue respectively.
In the women’s games, Chinese player Xu Yuhua drew with French player Sebag Marie in the showdown, crowning the women’s champion with 8 points. Dzagnidze Nana drew with Zhao Xue after a fierce competition, ranking second and third respectively.
This round only witnessed two victories. After failing ten rounds, Yildiz Betul(white)defeated Fierro Martha who was also in downturn, which helped her achieve a breakthrough from zero points.
