From Sina Sports: China (Nanjing) Beijing tournament finished its seventh round in the evening of October 5, 2009 in Nanjing Pukou Mingfa Pearl Spring Hotel. Chinese player Wang Yue drew with Russian player Jakovenko. Carlsen drew with Topalov. Radjabov drew with Leko. Carlson is currently top by with 5.5 points. Wang Yue and Topalov 3.5 points followed him with 3.5 points.
All three of today's chess ended in a draw. Carlsen and Topalov played for less than half an hour. Surprisingly the two sides played at the fastest speed for 43 rounds in the Sicilian defense to draw with the Rook and Pawn ending. The two sides have shown good preparation in the beginning. As Black Carlsen improved the strategy used in a board he ever played before. Topalov changed his strategy in the play. They played so tensely that we found they played a slow board at fast speed.
Another board was Radjabovand VS Leko. In order to avoid the opening of their preparations, the two sides to go into Bishop Wing opening with intent to contest in the middle Board. As Black Leko achieved a draw first ,but Radjabov played solidly. After a brief confrontation the two sides went into the middle period. They finished this board in the Bishop of opposite colours ending.
Wang Yue and Yakovenko ended later. They fought for 42 rounds in Greenfield defense and drew in the end. As White Wang Yue prepared a relatively early change in the opening which gave Yakovenko some surprise. Soon the two sides exchanged their reaped pieces entering the ending that the white with Knight, Bishop and five pawns VS the Black two Bishops and five pawns . Although Yakovenko had two Bishops, Wang Yue had a little more advantage with a good structure and location. Wang Yue has been working hard to expand the advantage of the situation, Yakovenko defense accurately .They played for 42 rounds and in the end drew in the Bishop of opposite colours ending.
As today's game all ended in draw, the ranks does not change. Carlson still leads with four wins and three draws getting 5.5 points closing to the champion. Wang Yue and Topalov followed him in the second place with 3.5 points. Leko and Radjabovand got 3 points. Yakovenko got 2.5 points.
The eighth round will begin at 3:00 p.m. on October 6. Wang Yue will flip against Carlsen; Topalov will fight against Leko; Yakovenko will play with Radjavoand.
