It’s our honor to invite the four masters, Ms. Yildiz, Ms. Fierro, Ms. Xu Yuhua and Ms. Zhao Xue. Can we share your ideas about today’s competitions first?
Yildiz: The board today was very complex. I should use my material far better before going to the middlegame. I didn’t play well, so I was given checkmate. My opponent played very actively. I had to take H5 after her H4. Even though I had two bishops, I had not made a good situation. I even made mistakes and KD5 was badly taken. I haven’t played well today.
Fierro: Today’s board is quite interesting, because my strategy was quite good and my situation was pretty well. But I spent too much time to calculate which would lead to time trouble. According to the former experience, I always made faults when it was time trouble. So I tried a easier change and gave my opponent a chance. Because the tactics were not positive, I lost a pawn. Then we went into endgame, a bishop of opposite colors endgame. I had queen rook bishop against her rook pawn 5. My bishop of White was too bad. My pawns before king were very weak and captured by my opponent. I felt very pity to lose this game.
Xu Yuhua: I think I played quite well today. My opponent’s strategy was not very complex. I made a set of preparations yesterday and found some means to attack in some special situation. And then I made this board which is a good situation of White in expectation. My opponent didn’t defense tenaciously in the last game and I won the game easily.
Zhao Xue: It is the most satisfied game since I take part in this tournament. I played well when against Russian player but had mistakes at last. It may be the best one. But I left too much chance to my opponent. The whole board was played quite smoothly from opening to middlegame.
Journalist: I have a question for two foreign players. Do you two have other hobbies besides chess in the daily life? My second question is for Ms. Xu Yuhua. After a set of competitions do you have any preparations or plans about the next year? My third question is for Ms. Zhao Xue. I think you perform very well today. Except for the satisfactory of the game, do you have any other meanings?
Yildiz: This year is the last year for me to study law in the university. My main hobby is reading and studying in schools. And in fact I have not too much time for other hobbies.
Fierro: I don’t know whether it is a hobby. I will teach playing chess when having no games. I live in Italy with my husband now and teach Italian top ten female players. And sometimes I make some activities, for example to teach waives to playing chess and give them some hopes. I think this is the most important thing for me in the daily life. Besides, I have established a Chess Foundation in Ecuador
Xu Yuhua: I think that the tournament is good, mainly some wonderful board, which is more pleased for me than getting a better rank. When I gave birth within three years, my condition has not been very good, but I never gave up and training hard. I played quietly this time inspired by the beautiful Pearl Spring . I won’t consider the Chess Olympic Games and other competitions and I just want to finish this game
Zhao Xue: this board is really important for me. There are three reasons. Firstly there were none boards I played comfortable and happily from start to the end .I won in the first board which was important for a player. For example in the 10th round of the Turkey tournament if I won, I could become champion, however, I lost it. Thirdly I am not satisfied with my self in the formal period .Sebag ranks half a point higher than mine, and now I won this board and my ranking is a go-ahead. It is very important for me to get a good result. Fierro: Chess in Ecuador is not so popular, so far we have not had any form of international chess school, so the chess foundationI have been trying is to teach more students playing chess. In fact, I think the 8,9-year-old children started to learn chess, is a good starting age. However, so far in my country there is only one male grandmaster, andI a female grandmaster. I can participate in such a high level of competition, the opportunity is very rare and very important to me, even though my current performance is not particularly good . Our domestic journalists in the daily concerns my game, so it would have been in a sense a good boost. I think that more kids can learn chess through my efforts. This is my biggest dream, I am now moving in this direction.
