There was a beautiful and magnificent mountain standing to the east of South Gate of Puzhen Town, Pukou District which previously was within the administration of Jiangpu County. Although the place was not a holy land or sacred mountain, it still enjoyed high prestige. Two thousand years ago when Chu launched war against Han, Chu was stronger than Han at the initial stage. The king of Han was no match for the conqueror of West Chu on the number of troops. However, Liu Bang enabled Han Xin as general to fight against Xiang Yu with his wisdom. In order to practice the army to resist Xiang Yu, Han Xin chose a stronghold near the river at the place called Laojiangkou to establish practice field. He also built up a “Dianjiang Platform” on the mountain to the east of South Gate of Puzhen Town. The platform was ten-meter high, composed of red walls, glazed tiles, painted pillars and carved beams. The platform was octagonal in shape which got splendid looking. It’s a pity that this worth-reserving historic relic was destroyed before the liberation of China. Now there is only the empty platform left there.
