Zhang Xiaoxiang, styled Anguo, was also known by his literary name Yuhu. He was born in 1132and died in 1169 at the age of 38. He was a native of the present Wujiang Town, Pukou District and the descendant of the 7th generation of Zhang Ji. He became a successful candidate in the highest imperial examination at the age of 23. And he was promoted to be the first (Number One Scholar) by Emporer Gaozong in the final imperial examination. As soon as he entered the political arena, he defensed for Yue Fei and was hated by Qin Hui. In 1169, he resigned due to calumny and died of illness in Wuhu. He carried on Su Shi’s style and enlightened Lu Xin, the bold school poet later in the Song Dynasty. He wrote 40 volumes of Yuhu Colletion. Liuzhou Getou was the most famous patriotic poem he wrote.。
