Players in Good State, Excitement to Be Shown
[hitcount 476 ]

At present, all players who will participate in the current tournament are in good state. Their rankings have accounted for everything. There are many grandmasters in the world, whose rankings do not stay unchanged. Top players must be in their extraordinarily competitive state. Recently, Anand and Kramnik are competing for the King of Chess, but their ratings are lower than Topalov, who is ranked first in the world. Topalov’s rating surpassed theirs in comprehensive games. He became the world champion in 2005. His triumph in the Master Chess Tournament, Buenos Aires, Argentina was of epoch-making significance, because he got his incontrovertible success among 8 strong players. Later he came through some rises-and-falls in terms of ranking but his state exalted rapidly in the past one or two years. So the participation of Topalov is a biggest highlight of this tournament. Ivanchuk is ranked third in the world. Though careful observation we can find that his rating is very close to Topalov’s. And the former became world chess player earlier. He has been a leading player for long but hasn’t the luck to seized the throne yet. The greatest chess player Kasparov once said that, when Ivanchuk is in very good state, no one can defeat him. Aronian who is ranked seventh is an innovative and insightful player. His father is a laser physical scientist who has many patents for invention and his mother is a scientist in Gunsmithy. Aronian himself has a high starting level and his chess game is good to look. There are quite a few scientists and mathematicians among international chess grandmasters, that’s why we say chess is a game of elites. Movsesian is ranked thirteenth in the world. Though his achievements are not very distinct, he has been doing very well recently. Lastly, we will talk about Svidler. He won the Russian Championship this year and because of that his rating of 2727 will surly be increased. Russia is the chess kingdom, so his success there shows his strength. Svidler’s best record was the 3rd in the world. Bu Xiangzhi of China once held the record for youngest grandmaster in the world, though the record has been broken by others. Two of his biggest successes are the champion of 2007 Blindfold Chess World Cup, which was a sensation at that time and 25-minute Blitz Chess of World Mind Sports Games which just ended. His Elo rating is comparatively low and his classical chess still needs improving, but we believe he will do well this time.
